As promised, here's part 2 of my mini HARE haul!
Midsummer's Midnight. 1 coat over black.
Black jelly with a mix of purple, fuchsia, green and the occasional blue glitters in various shapes and sizes. I can't even find words to describe how freaking beautiful this is - words are probably redundant anyway. The polish builds up nicely by itself in 2 to 3 coats (I know because I've worn this twice already) but the swatch above shows one coat over black. I can't decide which way I like it more. They are both stunning and eye-catching. <3 My friends love it and even my friend's boyfriend noticed it - just in case you are wondering, I think he gave a stamp of approval. :tup
Twilight Savings. 3 thick coats / 6 thin coats.
A beautiful blue/purple polish (somewhere between a periwinkle and majorelle blue) with silver squares and small purple hexes.
This is the only one that gave me some problems. Don't get me wrong! I love it a lot but it was not easy to work with. It was really sheer when I first painted it on my pinky and I found that I needed at least 6 thin coats to get the opacity that I liked. It looked pretty (there was a lot of depth to the look) but it was very tedious and a little thick on the nail. Because I couldn't find the right undies for it, I slapped on three thick coats for the rest of the nails instead. I ended up with lots of square glitters on my nails. :et
I've googled around a bit and I think not everyone had the same issue as I did. It looked beautiful on Sarah at just three coats and on Nikole at just two coats.
Revlon Royal-Twilight Savings-Royal-Twilight Savings.
A jelly sandwich with Revlon Royal! I just couldn't resist - the silver glitters were simply calling to be sandwiched! :L
On a side note, Royal is really gorgeous - a vibrant royal blue jelly with so much depth. If you don't have it, you should hunt it down.
So that's all the HARE polishes I have for now.
And if you know me, they will definitely not be my last. ;)
Just in case you are itching to get some HARE polishes too, the next restock at Llarowe will be this coming Wednesday and it will include Bisbee, A Positive, Pegasus, Monster and the Fall collection. I am not too sure if Nikole will restock her Etsy shop too.
Word has it that Nikole is going to be putting up swatches of her new Fall collection soon so do keep an eye out on her Facebook page or her blog. I simply can't wait!!!
xoxo,
mich

Every Hare Polish I've seen has been a winner! These are no exception!
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are always gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have Midsummer's Night on my wish list. I love it sooo much!
ReplyDeleteMich, your swatches are not good for my wallet! :P
ReplyDeleteWow! I want Midsummer's Midnight! You took some gorgeous photos here!
ReplyDeleteHmm... I think my Twilight Savings has the same problem as yours! I was really disappointed. There would be like a clump of square glitters, and the base was pretty sheer. I thinned it and tried it again, and it was a little better, but I think I would have to keep thinning it. =/ Are you planning on contacting Nikole?
ReplyDeleteOh and Midsummer's Midnight looks beautiful on you! And I LOVEEE the sandwich you did with Royal and Twilight Savings. <3
ReplyDeleteI agree!! I need all of them!! D: lol!
ReplyDeleteaww thank you, Jenni!! <3
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favs now! <33
ReplyDeleteawww hahah thank you Lauren! <3
ReplyDeleteBut honestly, if you have to choose only one indie brand, you should definitely consider HARE! :D
aww Thank you Lindsey! Midsummer's Midnight is just too pretty! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you C! I'm glad you love MM and the jelly sandwich! ^_^
ReplyDeletehmm... I don't have problems with clumping glitters but yea it was really quite sheer for me. Does thinning help with the base color? D:
I haven't decided whether I should contact Nikole because she seems awfully busy... but I will let you know if I do! :)
Love these swatches, I really need these 2 myself! Too bad Twilight Savings didn't turn out the way you wanted, though I tend to layer my HARE pretties because I don't want to waste them O.O.
ReplyDeleteThank you Deborah! I wanted to layer it but I can't find the right shade of blue from my stash... It hurt my heart to see a dent in my bottle T_T
ReplyDeletelove those all *_* WOW!!!

ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful!! I need to save up and finally buy some)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like them too!! I think I need to save up and buy *more* ;p
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I can't wait for her Fall collection, the previews look absolutely lovely. My wallet's definitely not going to be happy, though! :p
ReplyDeleteMe toooo!!! I'm stalking her fb page daily to see if she posted swatches already o"o
ReplyDeleteWell thinning helped spread out the glitters a little more so I wouldn't end up with a bajillion on one nail, but it didn't really help with the base color. It was still sheer and required a few coats. I'm still trying to make it work!
ReplyDeleteI love HARE polish but I never seem to have money when they're on sale! I love that first one, must keep an eye out x
ReplyDeleteI didn't buy any HARE polish in the past because of that too! I ended up being so upset with myself when she stopped selling them for a while. So when she came back, I just took the plunge and bought these ;p Will be saving up to buy more!
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love!!!! I want them but they aren't in stock. =(....
ReplyDeleteShe will be restocking her Etsy with some of her other collections real soon!!! 3pm on Monday 5 Nov, California Time :)
