Tony Moly: GS10 Pinky Star

Good morning!!

Have you noticed anything different today?
We have our very own polish well on our sidebar! Isn't it wicked!!?! Here's a huge THANK YOU to our super talented friend, ZhenTeng, for making our little polish well possible and even more fantastic than we've imagined <3!
There's glittery and multichrome awesomeness flowing out from the well - little wonder why the two girls couldn't tear their eyes away! Their expressions pretty much sum up how we all look when we see pretty polishes, don't they? Jayo insisted on being the taller blonde... hmmm... well, let's just give her the benefit of doubt ;p

On to today's polish! Here's the last glitter polish from my Tony Moly haul: Pinky Star!

Look at it glow in the bottle!
Pinky Star is a orangey-pink peach sheer milky base with a mix of red, pink, silver and gold hex glitter and a scattering of small round silver glitter that flashes blue and green when the light hits it just right. Really pretty and unique from the glitter configuration right down to the base color - I haven't really seen anything quite like this!

Anyway, I spent quite a while staring at my tiny stash and fretting over which base color to use for Pinky Star. You would think I would have considered that before buying this polish... but, well, that's me for you - never thinking before leaping. ><
In the end, I went with OPI's Who Needs A Prince since it is the only warmer soft shade I have. Thankfully it turned out quite well! All pictures are shown with 2 coats of Pinky Star over 2 coats of Who Needs A Prince.

As much as I love Pinky Star, it was the only one from my haul that had a wonky brush. It looked and felt like a mop of straight but stiff and unruly hair that poofs out slightly at the ends. I forgot to take a picture of it but I found another way to show you the brush! I give you...

Mrs Twit's hair! Hahaha! I miss reading Roald Dahl!
To be honest, the brush wasn't that bad. The stiffness reminded me of Mrs Twit's hair but thankfully, it didn't have the odd bristles sticking out in all directions. Seeing as all my other Tony Moly-s didn't have this problem, I'm guessing I am just unlucky enough to get a bad bottle.

Anyway, you can imagine that application was a little strange. The glitter was clinging onto the stiff mop and I had to dab the brush here and there to get the glitter onto my nails. Thankfully the formula was good and everything smoothed itself out even before I applied the top coat.

Sooo... that's the last of my Tony Moly haul!
What do you think of Pinky Star? Which TM glitter is your favorite?

  2. Well well, I was just innocently pinning stuff that I love from your blog when I saw this!  (I'm completely addicted to Pinterest right now...  Anyway!  Your polish well is so adorable!  Your friend did an excellent job =D

I love the colors of the glitter in this polish, really perky and fun, though the base is less orange than I expected.  I love the way it looks here, but I'm afraid of really peachy polishes because they look bad on my skin!

I love the glitter colors more too! I was actually hoping that there will be brown or maroon glitter in the mix.. But since this looks good enough too, I'm not complaining lol!
